Manufacturing
Industrial PA systems, shift bell scheduling, machine interlock monitoring, and field intercom for factories, warehouses, and production facilities.
Manufacturing environments need robust PA systems that overcome high ambient noise, survive dust and moisture, integrate with fire alarm and process control systems, and allow both scheduled and live announcements across multiple production zones.
Deployment Scenarios
Real-world challenges solved with Barix and BNA products in Manufacturing.
Shift Bell & Scheduled Announcements
Challenge
A manufacturing plant needs precise shift start, end, and break bells at exact times with different zone routing — production, office, canteen — without daily operator action.
Solution
BNA IP-ICS-10 stores shift bell audio and schedules it by time and zone to all IP PA zones. BNA IP-PA-AZU-300W zone amplifiers drive 100V speaker lines in each production area. Zero daily operator action required.
Machine Interlock Monitoring via IP
Challenge
A factory engineer needs to remotely monitor whether 4 critical machine interlock relays are correctly set before starting a production run — currently requiring a physical check.
Solution
Barionet 100 with 4 digital inputs monitors each machine interlock relay. Via Modbus TCP over the factory LAN, the SCADA system reads interlock status remotely. If any interlock is open, the Barionet relay output sounds a local alert horn without any PLC involvement.
Field Operator to Control Room Intercom
Challenge
Field operators in a noisy production area need two-way intercom with the control room — over the existing plant LAN — without dedicated intercom wiring.
Solution
Annuncicom 200 (8W, PoE) at field intercom stations connects over the plant LAN. Annuncicom PS16 at the control room provides one key per field station. The 8W output drives a horn speaker directly — enough for dock-level noise without a separate amplifier.
Warehouse Forklift Zone Safety Audio
Challenge
A warehouse VMS detects forklifts in pedestrian zones. A sub-second audio warning must play in the exact zone of the violation.
Solution
Barionet 1000 (Linux) runs the VMS integration script and sends an IP trigger to the BNA IP9000 controller within milliseconds of detection. IP-PA-AZU-300W plays the safety warning through zone speakers. All events logged for safety audit.
